Nick feb 5 2012 your birthday wishes :)

Not 20 but probably 14 candles, thanks for all the cakes grandma.

Well first off. Thank you all so much for the millions and billions of
birthday emails i got! (yes just an exaggeration to make people think
i´m really popular and get tons of emails). But really! thank you so
much! and at the same time!!... no thanks.. because now i have zero
time to write a letter to my family. Hope you´re happy. Well yes i´m
20 and yes i feel zero difference. actually. thats a lie. slowly
throughout the past year i have probably changed more than i ever have
in my entire life. Wowzers. now that i look back hahahaha sheesh! and
the funniest part is, that i cannot take a drop of credit for the
change i´ve had. 100% of that change came from YOU. yes who ever is
reading this. Really though, the change that has happened has been
from the outer influences and examples i have had in the past. Really
truly. I have had an amazing and wonderful unit of support love
encouragement in my life and the only thing that changed was that i
finally started to realize it. I finally looked around and listened to
what everything around me was saying.
I have had such wonderful people come and go in my life and it is to
those people that i owe that amazing change this past year and i just
want to say. Thank you. Thank you so very much in for taking part in
my life and helping me to become who I am today. No matter how big or
small a role I am who i am today because of you. You have all played
or changed a part of my life one way or another and i am so grateful
for that experience. Thank you so so so much. Family, friend,
neighbor, acquaintance. Thank you. You´ve helped me learn and grow and
i am who i am today because of you and your example and influence.
This year is thanks to you. Thank for YOU in my life.
Well i´m sorry i dont have time to write the story i had for today but
i´ll share it next time. Changes are coming up! and i´m heading out
for sure! i guess i did a well enough job training that my comp is
going to train now! Woo hoo!! way to go elder Rangel! Let you know
where i am going next weeek!! thanks for the birthday wishes!

Nick jan 29 2012 Its nicks first miracle......

Hello elder wimmer family , this is elder Rangal. I thought you ought to know why you will not be receiving any more emails from nick. one picture can describe the glory of his departure
During personal study, translated........

Well two days ago Elder Rangel and I had our first babtism. It was
just great. Spiritual, uplifting, lots of members showed, the whole
shabang. The best part besides the actual babtism was that we got to
bring three others kids of that group that we took a picture with.
They are a great group of kids, really truly. They are very close and
are always spending time and supporting each other. While we waiting
singing songs before the baptism, I was talking with two of the other
kids that went and explaining to them how we do the baptisms when one
of the kids interrupted me and said "can i be baptized?!" and the
older girl next to him said "me too!" I laughed really hard and said
"no".... just kiddin. I said "of course you can! but we have to talk
with and have permission with your parents"... It was such a great
experience to see that the example of one of them getting baptized had
such a great impression on them. I dont know how to word it. The
blessing it was, the chance, or the opportunity. To see that something
as simple as bringing them to church to see the baptism made them want
to take such a huge step. I know maybe it sounds like a long shot and
or that maybe they are just saying they want to do it but i KNOW that
if their parents allow it they will absolutely be baptized.
I wish i could explain it well and explain how great the experience
was but it this will have to do for now. Sorry, someday i´ll explain
it better.
Life here is great. Yesterday we went to the american members house
talked, played games, and ate popcorn. We left around 7 and the moon
was HUUUGEE!!!!!!!! it was so bright out i couldnt believe it! we
walked home on safe well lit streets.
Sorry didnt have any stories or good experiences to share. I´ll
hopefully have one next week though. Life here is just delightful and
i´m trying to push myself more and more every day.
Thank you so much family for all the love and support i get from you
all. Sorry the letter wasn´t much!

On the way to the baptism.

NICK january 15 2012 This week was normal, I quess

Welllll. This week was normal i guess. No good stories or anything
sorry.. we did have a confrence with Elder Fallabela of the 70 on
wednesday which was really cool and inspirational. Other than that
pretty average, just trying to work my hardest before changes come!
Only 14 days left in my area! ahhhh!! We´ve got such great potential
here and i might be gone before we see the results! poop.. We will be
having a talent show coming up for the ward and elder rangel and i
will be doing an acoustic guitar duet of a childs prayer that you will
have to wait to hear on a video or something.
I´m really sorry but this might be it for the e-mail due to time. I
will promise though that next week i will have a good and planned one
that will actually be enjoyable to read. Sorryyyyyy!! much love and
much thanks family and friends

NICK January 8 2012 Im getting married too!

Well i as i thought about what i would write this week and how i
would respond to receiving the news that BOTH of my older siblings
will be getting married while I´m on my mission, I´ve feel like i have
finally come to what i believe to be a mature and reasonable response.

I have decided that I will be getting married to a guatemalan woman of
my personal liking and choosing. We have chosen for the wedding to be
at the Quetzaltenango Temple on the 29th of april (seeming a fitting
date considering the two weddings are on the 27th and 28th of april)
You can see that i was quite thoughtful in planning this wedding
knowing that if i put it on the 26th you would be very busy with the
planning of the other weddings that you would not have time enough to
enjoy thinking about what my wedding looks like.
Hence, My wedding
will be on the 29th so that your minds may be free of worry of the
other weddings and your thoughts can be more focused on my special
day. We have decided the wedding colors will be purple and Very grey.

Anyways, i´m so happy for you all and i´m sure that your weddings will
be wonderful and joyful as will my mine. Rhett i´m sure that when i
meet your wife i´ll love her as i´m sure you will mine.i´ll send you a
few pictures of us so that you can see and judge her for yourselves.

Well this was a good week full of your ¨going on´s¨ here in
Huehuetenango. So i thought that today i would give you an idea of the
average going on´s and things that happen in the life of me as a
missionary here:
We talked with an evangelico man for a good two hours. Actually
let me rephrase that, We got talked at by an Evangelico man for a good
two hours.
We had a pleasant lesson/conversation with a nice widdowed
member.... and a drunk man who during the conversation was: Repeatedly
asking me to speak english with him. commented on EVERY question we
asked the widow which of course made me laugh and which of course made
him laugh uncontrolably as well. And was singing hymns from his church
for the last half of the lesson.
(good news) We found a new very positive investigator AND put
babtismal date with our other very positive investigator.
We saw a pic up with the bed of the truck completely filled with
furnature AND SOMEHOW.... 6!!! grown men clinging on to who knows what
for dear life as the car took a very sharp turn around a corner.
And I also got bit by a ferocious dog. Luckily it only tore my pants..
A few of the average happenings and sights from our week. Something
new this week though was that i became district leader. That was a
very big surprise for me. I now get to travel and visit a lot more of
the mission for babtismal interviews and splits with other
missionaries. It was a good week! Lots of success and a lot of fun.
I´m hoping to learn a lot and have a great week once again.
I want to thank my family for who they are and what a fun group of
people they are. I have such an easy and great life. I also of course
and SO happy for my brother and sister. When Rhett told me he was
getting married too at first it hit me pretty hard and was a lot to
take in to think about the both of you getting married. But now after
a week of thinking about it i´m just so very happy for you both. You
have my blessing. HAH. Well i love you all so very much and cant wait
FOR you guys if that makes sense. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FAMILY
and i love you all sooooo much.
